Hey Gary,
My name is Sonnie Swenston. I don't remember you, but maybe you remember my brother Mark since he is closer to your age. I'm now 58, and was a classmate of Jarvie Olmos. Mark is now 54. Our older sister Carole (now 61) lived almost a different life, attending Van Wig, Edgewood Junior High, and then Arroyo High School before Bassett was built.
We grew up at 13934 Barrydale, looking directly up Milbury Street. (If you were to go back, it's the house that now has an iron fence and all those lions!) Is the Pete whose picture you have Pete Stieren? We lived next door to them.
While I have plenty of unpleasant memories of my childhood, your great blog brought back many good ones too. Thanks for putting it together! I plan to spend more time looking at it. Great pictures too.
