Hello Gary,
My name is Natalie Crow, but you would know me as Natalie Horne. I am the third child of Richard and Rosemary Horne. My siblings, oldest first, were: Karen, Richard, and Pamela. I know you remember us.... I saw Karen's picture on your blog and our family name, Horne, is listed there as a neighborhood family. A friend of mine, Ray Sanchez, posted your link on FaceBook this morning, and I spent the first four hours of my day looking and reading at your site. No, Ray did not grow up on Barrydale Street... He and my brother played guitar in a backyard band in the late 70's, early 80's. Ray did grow up in the area though, near the Vineland Drive-in.
My dad still lives in the area on Nolandale St. My sister Pam (now Pam Sosa) lives in Montclair and has 4 children, 3 adult (Levi, Justine, Dillon) and one 13 yr old named Seth. My brother Rick passed away from gastric cancer January 26, 2008. My mom joined him 22 months later on September 19, 2009. Anyway..... I have one son, whom I gave my maiden name, Kyle Tyler Horne. Mom sold that old house on Barrydale Street durring the peak back in 2005 for $320,000.00! She bought a home in Moreno Valley and lived there until Rick died (he lived across the street from her in MV) then came to live here in AZ with me. That's the short story.....
I have pictures of Barrydale Street from the 60's and 70's taken in our front yard. I attached them for you. I have more, but they are in a box and not on my PC. Let me know if you are interested.
Do you remember the Dobbins family? They bought Mrs. Anderson's house. There were 5 kids, Terry, Pam, Mark, Cheryl, Kelly. Mrs. Anderson was my kindergarten teacher.... Ahhh, Mr. Kerr, Mrs. Rixner, Mr. Belding, Mrs. Buys... Mr. Bolotti and Miss. Rigio were sweet on each other, lol! Florence Flanner Elementary.... is the incinerator still there? My sister Pam and I were cheerleaders in the 5th and 6th grade.... the might Falcons! We won the regional cheer competition too... I had forgotten all that.
So, you are a gpa! I have given up on having grandkids. Kyle is almost 31 and just can't seem to find the "one". He is studying to be a Minister of the Gospel, so females are not foremost on his mind anyway. Guess a good Christian woman is hard to find these days.
Yes, Penny, a brindle and white boxer. Dad had her put down.... something about tumors in her mouth. She was a good dog. Sorry she "tasted" you, lol! We had many dogs at that house in the years to follow.
Oh hey.... I was born in Gilbert AZ!!! My dad was a reporter on the Gilbert Gazzette!! LOL!!! Small world..... Pam lived in Chino CA for over 10 years near Philips Ranch.
